Aptos price remains under pressure near the $0.52 support zone as a falling wedge raises the possibility of a short-term reversal. Rising futures volume and open interest show increased market activity, but weak momentum and APT trading below key EMAs mean buyers still need a confirmed breakout.

APT price remained under pressure on Monday, August 17, 2026, as traders watched a falling wedge and critical support. Rising market activity accompanied the decline, while analysts awaited confirmation of a possible short-term reversal setup.

As of writing, Aptos (APT) is trading at $0.5258, showing a decline of 1.14% in a day. The 24-hour trading volume is showing a strong bullish surge up 51.2% and is currently standing at $36.95 million. Over the last week, the APT price has gone down by 11.01%, according to CoinMarketCap.

What APT Falling Wedge Signals Near $0.52 Support

Analyst Crypto With Gopal highlighted that the APT price is making a falling wedge on the one-hour chart. The price of APT pushed the pattern’s lower trendline around $0.51-$0.52 levels. The rejection of the price several times indicated that the buyers are protecting the support level.

The analyst further added that a break above wedge resistance could indicate a bullish continuation. The price on the chart could move towards the $0.57-$0.64 levels in case of an upside break. However, the setup still required a confirmed breakout.

Moreover, another analyst, Binance Killers, mentioned that $0.517 is the crucial support following the steep decline in the price of APT. It rebounded to $0.526 but failed to move above the resistance levels.

The APT price has to hold $0.517 and bounce back above $0.540 for strengthening the structure of the recovery. A clear breakout above $0.540 may allow further moves towards $0.560, while the next target would be set at $0.580.

However, failing to hold the $0.517 support may weaken the existing setup. The analyst warned that a confirmed breakdown below this threshold would bring fresh lows into focus.

Volume and Open Interest Rise

CoinGlass data shows a 29.96% increase in APT futures trading volume to $84.67 million. Open interest also rose 3.53% to $87.73 million, showing growth in outstanding derivatives positions. The APT OI-weighted funding rate remained positive at 0.0072%.

Total APT liquidations reached $456,060 over the past 24 hours. Long positions accounted for $358,420, while short liquidations stood at $97,650. The difference between the two sides reached $260,770, with long positions representing most of the liquidated trades.

Why APT Trades Below Four Key EMAs

According to TradingView data, the 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) is $0.566 on the daily chart. The 50-day EMA is slightly higher at $0.605. APT price trades below both moving averages, leaving the indicators above the token’s market value.

The long-term EMAs also show a wider gap, with the 100-day EMA at $0.703 and the 200-day EMA at $1.066. Aptos is trading below all four EMAs, with each of them being a possible resistance level for a reversal.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stood at 34.30, while its moving average is higher at 42.32. The RSI indicated weak momentum, but it is still above the level of 30, which marks it as an oversold area.
