Binance CZ’s AI Vision: Ditch the Token Hype, Build Real Utility

March 18, 2025 by Lipika Deka

  • CZ says AI agents should use existing crypto for fees, not launch endless new tokens.
  • Developers can integrate tokens based on APY, rewarding agents for usage and engagement.
  • Focus on AI utility, not just token creation, to avoid diluting existing crypto value.

Binance’s former CEO, CZ, is advocating a pragmatic approach to the much hyped relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents and cryptocurrencies. AI agents have been touted as the new red-hot narrative in 2025, mainly due to the advancement of AI technology and their potential in the current financial frameworks.

On AI agents, I have an unpopular opinion:

While crypto is the currency for AI, not every agent needs its own token.

Agents can take fees in an existing crypto for providing a service.

Launch a coin only if you have scale. Focus on utility, not tokens.🙏

— CZ 🔶 BNB (@cz_binance) March 17, 2025

While acknowledging cryptocurrencies’ vast potential as the exchange medium for AI agents, he believes not every agent needs its own token. The Binance co-founder is also against the trend of launching tokens for every AI agent purely on the hype. Instead, AI agents can use existing crypto to collect fees for their services.

He further urged users or builders to give emphasis on the practical applications and utility of AI agents and not just launch new tokens for the sake of it.

Many in the Binance community have supported this sentiment, agreeing that an endless stream of AI tokens could dilute the value of existing ones.

Totally agree with this. We (Users/Builders) keep flooding the market with more tokens and further diluting the value of ones already present. I believe there may be a few projects that already have this setup using a main token to power the AI ecosystem for other agents.

Binance AI Token Fees, Engagement, and Token Integration

Another, while agreeing on the excess influx of such tokens, suggests a system where developers rolling out AI agents can integrate existing, established cryptocurrencies instead of creating new tokens. This integration would be based on factors like Annual Percentage Yield (APY) or other potential returns.

If an AI agent is launched on a specific blockchain like BNB, a percentage of the fees goes to developers (10%) or the AI agents and say 5% to the creator platform. Now the creator platform can do monthly or quarterly rewards for the AI agents depending on criteria like most used (measured by fees) and most popular (through engagements).

This approach would reduce the growth of unnecessary tokens and foster an efficient and sustainable AI-crypto ecosystem.

KAITO’s $320K Airdrop: Accidental Leak Reveals Crypto’s Biggest Names

February 21, 2025 by Lipika Deka

  • Ansem’s KAITO airdrop sale reveals a potential KOL wallet leak.
  • KAITO price surges 100% despite airdrop controversy and influencer dumping.
  • The AI project allocates 20% of tokens for airdrops, raising tokenomics questions

KAITO, a crypto intelligence platform, has surged by 100% in recent hours, despite controversy surrounding its recent airdrop. Ansem, a well-known crypto influencer disclosed receiving an airdrop of 215,113 KAITO, which he later sold for 76 ETH (roughly $206.5K at the time). If he held onto the tokens, they would now be worth over $320K, a 55% profit, highlighting the volatile nature of cryptocurrency markets.

However, Ansem’s public disclosure has inadvertently exposed a potential major leak of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) wallet addresses. By analyzing the airdrop distribution, on-chain sleuths discovered a disproportionate number of influencer wallets among the recipients.

$KAITO airdrop might be the biggest "leak" of KOLS wallets ever.

I analysed who claimed, sort by allocation and BAM, you have a huge list of influencers wallets.

The analysts claimed to identify a significant number of prominent figures in the crypto space by sorting the list of claimants by allocation size. This so-called “leak” has sparked debates on the fairness and transparency of the airdrop distribution.

KAITO has allocated nearly 20% of its total token supply for future airdrops and incentives, a strategy designed to boost early adoption and generate market buzz around the platform. While this approach has undoubtedly created a stir it has also raised questions about the project’s long-term tokenomics and the potential for market manipulation.

KAITO’s 100% Surge: A Bullish Signal or Short-Term Hype?

Despite the controversy surrounding the airdrop and the open admission by some CT influencers of dumping their received tokens, KAITO’s price has defied expectations with a remarkable surge.

Proponents of the project argue that this launch is not just another Token Generation Event (TGE), but a significant momentum shift. They point to a fresh wave of interest and liquidity flowing into the Base ecosystem, attracting investors and users from other blockchain networks.

The launch isn’t just another TGE – it’s the momentum. A fresh wave of Interest, Liquidity is flowing into the Base Ecosystem, pulling in Investors/Users from the other chains. We might be witnessing the start of Phase 2 of AI Agent Development on Base. A cycle shift!

The price surge suggests that, at least in the short term, the controversy has not dampened market enthusiasm for KAITO. Whether this momentum can be sustained remains to be seen.

PIPPIN Rewrites AI Rules: 200+ Skills, Zero Limits

January 25, 2025 by Lipika Deka

  • PIPPIN could be AI leader building next-generation AI with self-learning capabilities.
  • The token has significant potential for value increase as the project develops.
  • The AI project enjoys early mover advantage in a rapidly growing AI crypto space.

PIPPIN’s perpetual contracts on Binance has put the AI token back in the spotlight. Market experts believe its potential to disrupt the AI crypto space and even surpass established players like AI16Z .

It’s creator, Yohei Nakajima is well known for its AI innovations and the success with BabyAGI, a open-source Python project that uses AI to execute tasks. Notably, his work often anticipates trends, potentially giving Pippin a first-mover advantage.

Secondly, the token’s framework goes beyond simple AI bots. It’s designed for “self-building” agents that can learn and develop new skills over time independently. While self-building isn’t fully functional yet due to challenges like third-party integration or memory issue, the framework has the potential to revolutionize AI capabilities in the near future. Here’s how.

Experts noted that Pippin agents can leverage 200+ skills integrated from AI assistant like Composio. This allows its agents to perform various tasks, such as posting on social media, collaborating on documents, and even making e-commerce purchases, providing a foundation for future self-building capabilities.

Unlike other AI coins, Pippin has a clear path towards real-world use cases. While the project founder has only divulged limited information via his live demo, Yohei has hinted at a future where the holders of the AI token can participate in challenges and contribute to the project’s development.

Pippin: The Next Kaggle for AI?

Unlike most AI coins, Pippin will have utility. While Yohei has only shared brief hints so far, it’s clear that utility will be one of the focus as the project evolves.

While the self-building features are not yet fully functional, Pippin’s current framework integrates with existing tools, offering a wide range of skills for its AI agents. Additionally, the planned utility system with quests and competitions could attract top AI talent, fostering innovation and potentially driving token value.

This approach is reminiscent of Kaggle, the Web2 machine learning platform that successfully draws the best talent to solve complex problems through collaborative challenges.

Considering the project’s strong leadership, innovative framework, and planned utility, it’s an exciting project to watch. With a market cap significantly lower than established players like AI16Z, Pippin has the potential for substantial growth.

Solana Faces Congestion Chaos with TRUMP and AI Agent Frenzy

January 21, 2025 by Sadia Ali

  • Solana faces congestion issues from meme coin and AI agent traffic spikes.
  • Transaction failure rates doubled, yet block utilization dropped below 20M.
  • Solana leads in meme coin speculation and AI agent innovation despite challenges.

Researcher Wei Dai recently highlighted congestion on Solana, driven by the $TRUMP and $MELANIA memecoins. On-chain metrics paint a grim picture: average and median fees have skyrocketed, while failure rates increased to 40% from the usual 20%.

image 78 2

Block compute unit utilization, however, has fallen below 20M, which is a surprising divergence from Ethereum, where congestion leads to fully utilized blocks. This could be because applications overestimate how much CU a particular transaction will take, or congestion at the ingress points of block proposers is constraining the availability of network bandwidth.

image 78 3

SOL implemented the Gulf Stream system, whereby transactions are streamed to proponents. In practice, during congestion, these often arrive stale. Furthermore, the average signer count per block has decreased, which indicates inefficiencies in block propagation and signing during congestion periods.

image 78 1

Solana Rises as Speculative and Innovation Hub

Despite the challenges, SOL retains the top position in the meme coin and AI agent markets. The successful launch of $TRUMP caused a 20% surge in $SOL, combined with $13 billion in DEX volume and $2.5 billion in TVL within three days.

image 78 4

The seamless user experience that SOL has provided with things like the efficiency of transactions, integration of Phantom wallets, is consolidating attention inside the ecosystem and pulling in more users from Ethereum and Layer 2.

That even extends to dominance over AI agents, whereby Solana has outperformed Base: whereas Base was based on frameworks like Eliza, the Solana ecosystem is founded on open-sourced ingenuity.

The likes of the Solana AI Hackathon have helped nurture participation among developers, and now there are more than 100 tokenized projects with many others currently being developed. SOL is, therefore, taking a very grassroots-driven approach that maybe makes it one of the leading platforms for AI agents – outside of Base.

The Intersection of Meme Coins and AI Agents

On the other hand, the tussle between the meme coins and the AI agents has been characteristic of the Solana ecosystem. Observers indicate that there is actually an inverse relationship when AI agents prosper, meme coins decline, and vice versa. This is well evinced in projects such as the $FARTCOIN, whose surges insulate the fall when it declines in the AI agent sector.

image 77 8

Several questions arise now that Solana is becoming solidified as a leader in speculation and innovation. Does Virtuals-the largest ecosystem of AI agents- expand on Solana to solidify the lead, or does a new one rise if that doesn’t happen? And finally, does Base close the gap in AI agent adoption?

The direction Solana will take depends on how well it balances its technical limitations with rapid increases in adoption. The next phase of the Solana journey will define how the cryptocurrency will contribute to the crypto world: either by solving bottlenecks or by furthering ecosystem development.
