The TuruGlobal team is participating the 2022 Grand Hackathon with its new platform called Africa Stars.
TuruGlobal has always believed Africa to be the continent of the future. This is also why we have been working hard to put products in the market which make investing accessible for all. While working on building a community in Africa it became apparent to us, through the team of Africans we engaged with that Africa is underrepresented in the Crypto industry and also that information about the rich culture and history is not easily accessible for the masses. So together with our African “turu warriors” we decided to build the Africa Stars platform with as it’s main feature the “StarPedia”.
What is Africa Stars?
Africa Stars is a tribute to the continent which has been the birthplace of life and civilization. The beauty and the rich history of Africa consists of many stories untold or unknown to the bigger global population. Stars of Africa wants to highlight the African continent by telling its history and culture. We are launching an #NFT collection representing a good collection of Africans best and most famous, we will share details and background stories. We are the African Stars.
The Team
Our team is part of TuruGlobal, a global community of Crypto enthusiasts who are spread all over the world. In the Africa Stars team we have a solid representation of people from the African Continent who are proudly portreying the African heritage through this project.
The African team has their foothold in Ghana and Nigeria bringing content to our platform with the intent to spread the foothold over a wider area in the near future.
The NFT’s
A total of 777 NFT’s are being created to represent countries, tribes, locations, artifacts and people representing the African continent. The NFT’s are being used in the StarPedia section of the AfricaStars.live website in the content section to generate clickable links to the content behind them.
On top of this holding an Africa Stars NFT will make you earn passive income. The $BBT meme token has also become the token to reward NFT holders and to reward content providers for the StarPedia section.
Every NFT is individually designed by one of our Philippine designers based on input provided by our African team.
While the TuruGlobal EcoSystem grows more use cases will come for the NFT’s bringing additional value to the NFT’s in the future. One of them being the TuruVerse.
StarPedia
The key feature of Africa Stars is StarPedia. StarPedia is the knowledge center where we collect info about Africa from content providers from our team and content providers from the community. StarPedia is the story about Africa told by Africans. Where we start StarPedia in a centralized manner, the long term vision is to position StarPedia as a decentralized knowledge center fully controlled and managed by the wider community.
Until we get there, TuruGlobal will make sure there will be incentives for content providers to deliver content to the platform and grow the information covered in the StarPedia knowledge hub.
In order to kickstart StarPedia we have also established partnerships with organisations spreading information on Twitter like Africa Hub and African Archives.
Turu Angels
The final important feature of Africa Stars is the connection with Turu Angels. Turu Angels is the charity angle of TuruGlobal looking for charities directly connected to the communities. We have so far engaged with three local African charities which will be supported by Turu Angels to help local communities and bring further awareness of the possibilities of crypto and blockchain in the African continent.
