Bitdeer Increases Mining Power While Outpacing Cipher Digital

The hash rate used by Bitdeer for its self-mining has increased from 70.2 EH/s in May to 73.0 EH/s in June. A higher hash rate implies that the firm has employed more computing power in securing the Bitcoin network.

In recent figures, the firm has further expanded its gap over Cipher Digital, whose hash rate has come down due to a reduction in its Bitcoin mining activities to move into the high-performance computing (HPC) centers catering to the field of artificial intelligence. Cipher has recorded its Bitcoin mining hash rate as 11.6 EH/s for Q1 2026 against 23.6 EH/s at the end of 2025.

At 73.0 EH/s, the mining power of Bitdeer is now over six times greater than that of Cipher’s Bitcoin mining operations. Even though Cipher had reduced its mining operations, its stock had risen by over 15% as well.

AI Business and Global Expansion Continue

Other than Bitdeer’s success with Bitcoin mining operations, the firm has also reported advancements in its AI Cloud offerings. The annualized recurring revenue rose from $69 million to $76 million, with GPU utilization rising from 90% to 95%.

The company has also made its first delivery of NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems for five years of GPU cloud services. Michael G. Potter, the CFO of the company, has confirmed that June was a good month for Bitdeer in terms of advancements on their AI platform.

Bitdeer made another announcement concerning a 10-year lease on a new data center in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, that will offer 21.7 megawatts of IT power. The site is expected to start operating in Q1 2027 and will include 128 NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 machines.

Furthermore, the company revealed its colocation lease agreement in Tydal, Norway, and the building of its $36 million Sealminer manufacturing facility in Sparks, Nevada continues to progress as planned.
