BitMEX Operator HDR GLobal Trading Becomes Shadowserver Foundation Sponsor; Becomes Part of ‘Alliance for Internet Security’

Partnerships have been the bedrock of several successes in the virtual asset world. This model was carried forward recently by the operator of the one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, BitMEX.

HDR Global Trading Limited has announced that it will become a sponsor of the Shadowserver Foundation, the Internet Security Reporting and Investigation Resources Forum. The two entities ‘relationship would provide a capital boost from HDR to the Foundation.

BitMEX reported in its latest blog that HDR will pay $400,000 to the Shadowsertver Foundation over the next four years. The Foundation works as a non-profit organization and is supported by donors willing to contribute to the security of the internet and its users. With the latest tie-up, HDR GLobal Trading Limited will become a member of the non-profit’s alliance for internet security.

At the moment, the Shadowserver Foundation asked for urgent financial support to move its data centers before the deadline of 26 May. The organization relies on donations to improve its data repositories so that members can be helped.Post the announcement of the new partnership, Samuel Reed, the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of HDR:

Shadowserver collects feedback from members of a global community and supports 109 emergency response teams in 138 countries around the world. It makes up over 4800 vetted network owners, a major part of IPv4 internet space. One major advantage the Foundation provides its users is access to the information on the daily cybersecurity network.

The organization sends custom made remediation reports to over four thousand subscribers. This clientele also includes governments as well as companies from the Fortune 500. The reports are free of charge and include a detailed list of targeted and relevant information about a system’s security exposures. Richard Perlotto, the director of the Shadowserver Foundation also appreciated HDR’s involvement in the bid to increase internet security.

Perlotto reaffirmed on the organization’s ideal that no one should pay for finding out if they were the victims of an attack. The capital from HDR will be sued to ensure that the server limit is not reached and resources are aplenty for smooth functioning.
