The official Solana blockchain account recently shared a mysterious tweet, stating, “The future of tokenization. A new horizon for blockchain…loading soon.” This cryptic message, devoid of further details, has sparked speculation within the crypto community. In response to a user suggesting “Token Extensions,” the Solana team replied with an eye emoji.
The concept of token extensions revolves around enhancing standard token functionality without relying on third-party tools. Developed in collaboration with major institutions, these new token standards offer advanced native features tailored for complex behaviors while maintaining a focus on security and scalability.
In comparison to the original token program, which provided basic capabilities like transferring, freezing, and minting tokens, token extensions, touted as the next generation of the Solana Program Library standard, introduce additional features. These include confidential transfers, custom transfer logic, extended metadata, and more.
Despite the introduction of token extensions as a new standard, there is no mandatory migration from one standard to another. While the recent teaser lacks details, market observers are eagerly anticipating a more comprehensive announcement shortly.
Solana continues to witness a surge in project launches. The latest addition is an app named Chinder, introduced on the Layer 1 blockchain. Marketed as “Crypto’s Tinder,” Chinder offers a unique way to discover new crypto tokens, promising a hassle-free experience. Developed by the pseudonymous entity virtual_facade, users can swipe left or right on SOL-based tokens displayed on the platform.
Solana’s Chinder App Swiping to Success
A left swipe takes users to the next token, while a right swipe offers a direct option to purchase the selected token. This innovative approach simplifies navigation through the extensive world of Solana-based cryptocurrencies.
Reports suggest that virtual_facade, the anonymous developer behind Chinder, is also involved in a Solana version of Unibot. This infrastructure plays a crucial role in enabling Chinder users to swiftly execute trades on selected crypto assets.
As of now, Chinder does not directly monetize its application. However, in collaboration with ‘Unibot on Solana,’ Chinder users enjoy a 10% fee discount when purchasing the chosen token. While the application is currently in an experimental phase, the positive response from the crypto community hints at potential developments in the future.
