Cardano Ascends: Development Teams Forge Ahead In Ecosystem Evolution

In the latest Cardano Weekly development report, significant progress was made by various teams working on different aspects of the Cardano blockchain ecosystem.

The DB Sync team focused on enhancing the integration of the Conway design with db-sync. Additionally, they improved the UTXO-HD feature branches and prepared the release of version 13.1.1.3, which supports node version 8.1.1.

The team also addressed several issues related to build processes, Docker, developer experience, and documentation. Meanwhile, the Lace team continued their work on the cardano-js-sdk. They updated the TxBuilder to allow funds to be delegated to any stake address and implemented a new algorithm for multi-delegation.

The team also progressed on the import HD wallet feature and researched the long-term spending behavior’s impact on the user staking portfolio. Furthermore, they dedicated efforts to developing new UI components for the multi-delegation flow in the Lace browser application, focusing on Trezor support and responsiveness improvements.

The Plutus core team worked on improving support for BLS built-ins in Plutus Tx and reviewed end-to-end tests for BLS built-ins. The Marlowe and Plutus teams held a successful Marlowe launch party in Lisbon, where they engaged with the Cardano community and shared the latest updates on smart contracts in Cardano.

Cardano Hydra Team Implements External Commits & Explores CI Approach

The Hydra team implemented end-to-end functionality for external commits and tested it on the preview environment. They also listed Hydra as a tool on the Cardano developer portal, increasing its visibility. Additionally, the team discussed layer 2 protocol improvements and explored an alternative CI approach using Cabal.

The Mithril team achieved significant milestones by creating a new distribution pre-release and initiating testing of the new production signer deployment model with pioneer stake pool operators. They also made progress on the setup and deployment of the mainnet infrastructure and worked on improving the stress test tool for benchmarking the aggregator.

In the realm of governance, discussions continued on CIP-1694 to establish an initial Minimum Viable Governance (MVG) framework. Community members actively participated in workshops and provided valuable feedback to shape the future of governance within the Cardano ecosystem.

In Project Catalyst, over 300 proposals were submitted for Fund10, and previously closed-out projects showcased their work during the town hall, providing insights into their impact on the Cardano ecosystem. However, the Cardano development teams all demonstrated their commitment to advancing the blockchain’s capabilities and fostering community engagement.
