Cardano Founder Responds To Criticisms Over Public Views & Controversial Endorsements

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano (ADA) network, has responded to an open letter from an anonymous member of the community criticizing him for his public views.

In the open letter, the member stated that Hoskinson’s need for approval from peers prevented him from being a faceless and objective presence. He was into people that stoke the fire of hate for LGBTQ+, minorities, and poor people.

The member also requested Hoskinson to stop associating his technology with personalities like Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk.

In response, Hoskinson criticized the involvement of random people like Peterson and Musk, who have nothing to do with Cardano, in the philosophy.

He defended Peterson as just being paranoid about the use of language and Musk as a powerful person with influence, which is valuable to the industry. He added that it is not alt-right to point out facts like Covid possibly leaking from a lab and China having concentration camps.

Cardano Founder Accuses Critics Of Using Strawman Arguments

Hoskinson also accused the member of using strawman arguments and assured the community that the decision regarding contingent staking would not be made without a community vote. He agreed with the author’s opinion on Satoshi Nakamoto’s anonymity and said that he wished Cardano could have a similar story.

However, Hoskinson disagreed with the member’s opinion on associating his technology with alt-right personalities. He said that most people do not care about the culture war and that the accusations were unfounded.

He also stated that he would not bow to pressure from a vocal minority and that Cardano would continue to pursue its goals of being a decentralized, open-source technology.

Hoskinson acknowledged that he had the freedom to say whatever he wanted on his AMAs and hoped that the community would accept his response. He reiterated his love for Cardano’s technology and said that he would continue to work towards its success.

However, while the open letter criticized Hoskinson’s association with certain personalities, Hoskinson defended himself against the accusations and assured the community of his commitment to Cardano’s goals.
