Cardano Founder Shuts Down EthGate Troll With Epic Reply

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, recently responded to a troll on Twitter with an epic and humorous reply. Hoskinson shot back, “You got beef with Uncle Joe, not Charlie,” becoming irate at being held accountable for his suspected involvement in the EthGate affair, a claim that Ethereum obtained a free pass from regulators.

Hoskinson’s tweet was in response to an XRP enthusiast who asked the Cardano founder’s opinion on a screenshot of emails allegedly received by William Hinman, a former SEC director and a central figure in the EthGate conspiracy theory.

The emails revealed conversations between Hinman and his coworkers about his infamous lecture, in which he claimed Ethereum [ETH] shouldn’t be considered a security. These conversations served as the major impetus for the EthGate incident.

Critics, primarily those who supported XRP, firmly believed that the Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC] was biased toward Ethereum by allowing the cryptocurrency to advance while treating XRP and other competitors more harshly. The justification even served as the cornerstone of the legal defense in the Ripple/XRP conflict with the American regulator.

Cardano boss Hoskinson’s name was dragged around by critics on numerous occasions since he was one of Ethereum’s co-founders and played a crucial role prior to his shocking exit in 2014 due to a disagreement in vision that ultimately culminated in the launch of the Cardano blockchain.

However, this time, the crypto entrepreneur swiftly refuted the outrageous accusations, claiming that the emails and other pertinent artifacts were from 2018 and later, long after he had severed ties with the Ethereum team in June 2014. Hoskinson stressed that the incidents in question didn’t happen until years after he left Ethereum.

“Why do you guys CC on the Ethereum stuff? I left in June 2014. All of the emails and other relevant artifacts were from 2018 and beyond. It was literally years after they burned me, tarred and feathered my reputation, and Cardano launched,” he tweeted, distancing himself from the controversy.
