Cardano’s Cutting-Edge Innovations Shine Bright At Summit 2023

In the world of Cardano, exciting developments are taking center stage as the Cardano Summit 2023 unfolds. IOG teams are actively participating in this annual event, offering keynotes, panels, and masterclasses and showcasing a range of innovative products and services.

The networking team has been hard at work, focusing on bootstrapping peers, investigating CI processes, and testing protocols and connection manager functionality. They have also released a new version of the ouroboros-network packages to CHaP.

Meanwhile, the consensus team has been tackling two critical areas. Firstly, they’ve addressed the survivable eclipse duration, which is crucial for supporting Genesis delivery. Additionally, they’ve improved the handling of blocks in the future. Notably, they’ve made significant progress in developing the UTXO-HD branch, enabling a node to sync with the mainnet up to the Alonzo era.

A regression in mempool snapshotting was also addressed through a ledger update and is set to be fixed in the upcoming node v.8.6 release.

Nami Joins Cardano’s Ecosystem

In a notable development, Nami, the non-custodial wallet platform created by Alessandro Konrad, has joined the Input Output Global product family. The Lace team is at the Cardano Summit, engaging with the community and addressing data-fetching issues for better token conversion support.

The Plutus tools team has been active, working on Marconi API queries, Cardano-node-emulator testing, and improving user documentation. The Plutus Core team made efficiency improvements to the equality comparison on the PlutusTx value.

Moreover, the Marlowe team has worked hard on various fronts, creating multiple versions of transactions in TS-SDK and enhancing Marlowe Playground functionality. They’re also conducting workshops at the Cardano Summit to explore the suite of tools and safety features Marlowe offers.

Hydra has fixed issues related to key generation and rewritten hydra-tui. They’ve prepared for their Cardano Summit presentation, including implementing the `hydra-poll` example DApp.

Meanwhile, the Mithril team is making strides in decentralizing Mithril networks and achieving full WASM compatibility in a proof of concept. They’ve also addressed unreachability issues on the release-mainnet aggregator and improved Docker image builds.

In Project Catalyst, preparations for Fund11 are in full swing, and the team is gearing up for the Cardano Summit, with more details expected next week. They’ve also implemented new technical updates, including preparing the mobile app and backend for Fund11.
