Chainlink (LINK) Price on the Edge: Will It Break $18 or Crash to $15?

By Sajjal Ali | Edited By Ammar Raza,July 20, 2025, 8:30 AM

chainlink
  • Chainlink (LINK) is currently trading at $17.77, showing short-term losses despite weekly gains.
  • Analysts point to a crucial resistance near $18, a breakout could send prices soaring.
  • Forecasts for 2025 remain divided, with targets ranging from $13.56 to over $52.

Chainlink (LINK) is trading at $17.77, down 3.35% over the last 24 hours. Trading volume fell dramatically, dropping 41.86% to $844.12 million. In this loss, however, LINK is still higher by 6.42% for the week, so recent strength hasn’t been totally erased.

Crypto analyst CryptoPulse notes LINK is testing a critical resistance level at $18. “This is a make-or-break level,” the analyst noted. A breakout here and above the ceiling could witness aggressive gains. If LINK breaks and holds above $18, targets include $23.34, $26.86, and even $31+. But a breakdown here could see the price retreat back into the mid-$15s.

Chainlink Price Forecasts Vary Widely for 2025

Chainlink projections for 2025 vary significantly. Optimistic estimates are from DigitalCoinPrice. The website reports that LINK reached $26.99 in early January 2025 and dipped below $18.25 momentarily, a price unseen since the start of 2021.

They expect LINK surpassing above the all-time high at $52.88, with the target for the final part of the year at $35.15 and $39.04. Market observers echo this bullish sentiment, pointing to broader crypto recovery and Chainlink’s expanding utility in decentralized finance. But not all projections paint the same picture.

Changelly presents a more modest outlook. Its 2025 price prediction falls within $13.56 and $16.22, and an average price at $18.88. They expect the ROI for LINK might stay negative for some time and reach as low as -12.8%. For July 2025, Changelly is forecasting an average price for LINK at $17.91, close to the recent level, and a probable range between $17.54 and $18.28.

This sharp contrast between predictions shows uncertainty still surrounds LINK’s medium-term future.

LINK Faces Mixed Market Sentiment

The immediate focus for investors is LINK’s battle around the $18 level. Holding above it may validate bullish projections, opening up room for strong upward moves. Failure to clear this zone could support the more conservative outlooks.

Market sentiment remains mixed. Real strength in the price action for LINK will occur when this resistance area is worked out clearly. Until then, price action may remain volatile and the trader is best off remaining focused.
