Bank Leumi partners with Galaxy Digital to bring Bitcoin, Ether and Solana crypto trading to Israeli customers in early 2027.

Crypto trading in Israel is increasingly being integrated into the traditional banking industry, as Bank Leumi will soon be offering digital assets directly to its customers.

Bank Leumi, which is the largest bank in Israel, has formed a partnership with Galaxy Digital that will help it provide Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana to its customers through the Leumi Trade platform. The launch of this program is scheduled to take place in early 2027.

Bank Leumi Plans Crypto Trading on Its Banking Platform

According to a press release, the customers of Bank Leumi and its digital banking arm PEPPER will be able to buy, hold, and sell select digital assets through a designated section on the Leumi Trade app.

The technical infrastructure will be provided by Galaxy, with backing from GalaxyOne Institutional, while the Custody Infrastructure platform, previously known as GK8, will support the bank’s digital-asset infrastructure.

Why This Is Important for Crypto Trading

This collaboration could allow better access to cryptocurrency trading for those clients who prefer traditional banks rather than independent cryptocurrency exchanges.

It is also important because it illustrates how digital assets are increasingly being integrated into traditional banking, especially as regulatory bodies in Israel continue to develop rules for cryptocurrency-based financial services.

Before this partnership, Bank Leumi had already explored the sector through PEPPER, which had launched a crypto trading service with Paxos in 2022.

Galaxy Israel CEO Lior Lamesh said, “Leumi is the first bank in Israel to bring digital assets to its customers.”
