Dogecoin price remains near $0.07 as Bollinger Bands tighten and open interest approaches $1.2 billion. The setup points to a potential volatility expansion, with $0.07126 and $0.06876 emerging as key levels.

Dogecoin price will be experiencing a tighter trading range going forward with lower volatility, stronger positions within derivatives markets, and continued price consolidation indicative of a potential significant move ahead.

At press time, Dogecoin is trading at $0.07037 and represents a rise of 1.11% from the previous 24-hour period. The change in price comes as DOGE stays close to the middle of its recent trading range.

Why Is There a Volatility Squeeze in Dogecoin Price?

Based on the TradingView chart, Dogecoin is currently moving near the middle line of the Bollinger Bands, with a price of $0.07001. Meanwhile, the upper Bollinger Band is at $0.07126, while the lower Bollinger Band is at approximately $0.06876.

This squeeze reflects a sharp decline in price volatility. If there is a breakout above $0.07126, it will serve as the first technical signal that the price could gain more upside momentum.

What Is Dogecoin Price Volume Telling Us?

As per data from CoinGlass, the volume of DOGE trades is still active in August, even though the latest daily volume bars are not as high compared to the stronger spikes seen at the start of the month.

This means that traders are still active; but for there to be a breakout, there needs to be strong volume to confirm that the move is genuine.

How Does the Dogecoin Price Stack Up Against Open Interest?

Open interest for Dogecoin is currently around $1.2 billion based on the information provided by the CoinGlass chart. This is important because DOGE price has stayed around $0.07 despite an increase in open interest while the price remains relatively constrained.

This discrepancy shows that there is increased leverage with constrained price action. In case of a breakout from the resistance level, the positioning can further fuel the move; on the other hand, a breakdown below the support level can cause increased volatility.

Could Dogecoin Price Rise Above $0.07126?

According to Ali Charts on X, Dogecoin (DOGE) is showing “the tightest Bollinger Band squeeze since September 2023.” The analysis suggests that such a squeeze can signal increasing volatility and the possibility of a significant price move.

Though the analysis supports the technical analysis shown on TradingView, it cannot predict whether the price action will be bearish or bullish. DOGE would need to break above $0.07126 with strong market participation to strengthen the bullish bias.

What Should Dogecoin Price Traders Watch Next?

The current trading range is pretty straightforward. The primary upside level will be $0.07126, whereas $0.06876 will act as the lower Bollinger Band and a key reference level in case of a downward move.

A sustained breakout above the upper Bollinger Band will strengthen the bullish bias, but failing to hold above $0.06876 will weaken the current compression setup. Additionally, with open interest currently at around $1.2 billion, any breakout could increase volatility as leveraged derivative positions react to the price move.

Cryptocurrency markets continue to remain highly volatile; thus, traders need to keep an eye on price movements, market sentiment, and upcoming catalysts before investing.
