Will make bitcoin a legal tender in Texas if elected: Texas governor candidate Don Huffines

Don Huffines, Texas governor candidate, recently announced that he would make bitcoin a legal tender if he gets elected. He recently tweeted: “I have owned Bitcoin for years and am a firm believer in both its value as an asset and potential as a currency. As a leader in innovation, Texas must lead the nation on Bitcoin policy and cryptocurrency adoption. I am committed to making Texas the Citadel for Bitcoin.”

He also announced his proposal to make Texas the top cryptocurrency state in the nation.

According to the report, “We can legitimate Bitcoin as a store of value, medium of commerce, and unit of account not only by recognizing, supporting, and promoting the business but also by harnessing our natural resources and governmental authority.”

According to Huffines, the state must prevent the federal government from “discriminating against Bitcoin holders” and “attempting to shut down or restrict freedom-loving Texans investing in Bitcoin,” according to Huffines.

“Not only does the proposal call for bitcoin to be deemed legal tender, but it also calls for the formation of the Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency Policy Commission, which would be responsible for judging the usefulness of recognized currencies.” “As legal tender in Texas.”

Texas, the second most prominent and most populous state in the United States, has the capacity to join the crypto money world rapidly with its new governor candidate. Don Huffines, a Texas gubernatorial candidate, claimed in a statement on the matter that if elected, he would make Bitcoin a legitimate money, at least in Texas.

Don’s claim brings good news for the bitcoin hodlers of Texas?

As of now, it’s not clear how he will make this happen. But his Twitter account is cluttered with tweets about people showing their support for Don after his announcement. He recently posted a tweet rocking a hat with the BTC symbol engraved.

Government officials are continuously jumping on the bandwagon of the long list of bitcoin supporters. They are wise enough to understand that cryptocurrency is becoming people’s favourite currency. Showing their extended support to crypto will also put them ahead on the line that will favour them with popularity and people’s love.
