Litecoin Emerges as Eligible Asset in T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF Filing

Litecoin continues to show growing attention as institutional participation through cryptocurrency investment has resulted in increased interest in digital assets.

One recently filed regulatory form identifies LTC as an asset that could be eligible to be included as part of an investment instrument known as an ETF or exchange-traded fund. At press time, the coin is trading at $58.33 with an increase of 5.86% over the past 24 hours.

LTC is one of the oldest coins in existence and is therefore frequently recognized as one of the fastest transaction mediums, as well as a method for making direct peer-to-peer payments.

Litecoin Entry To ETF Filing Update

The Litecoin Foundation announced via an update to social media that T. Rowe Price had submitted Amendment #2 to their Form S-1 registration statement for the T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF.

This filing with the U.S. SEC outlines changes made to their original filing and contains supplemental data related to the proposed ETF.

The draft registration includes a description of the ETF as being actively managed with a view to attaining long-term capital appreciation through the investment in cryptocurrencies.

The registration also goes on to explain that the investments to be made into cryptocurrencies will be subject to certain criteria used to establish eligibility as a qualified asset to be included.

The sponsor has stated in the document above that

“The objective of the Fund is to achieve Capital Growth through long-term Investment in cryptocurrency.”

and they have a plan to invest this Fund in different ways into a diversified portfolio as Digital Assets evolve and change daily.

T. Rowe Price has mentioned Litecoin (LTC) in its ETF filing. This adds to the increasing number of institutional investors seeking established cryptocurrencies that may enhance their exposure to LTC as part of their investment strategy.

As a result, additional interest will be generated from broader market participants investing in cryptocurrencies.
