Miami Mayor Takes Another Plunge At Inducing Bitcoin Into The City

February 9, 2021 by Sahana Kiran

While the world has just laid eyes on Bitcoin and the crypto industry, Miami Mayor, Francis Suarez seems to be taking a leap. The Mayor of the American city made news last week as he wanted to incorporate Bitcoin into the city. Now, Suarez revealed that he would be taking things up to the higher authorities.

Miami To Soon Embrace BTC?

Bitcoin rose up to a high of $47,131.35 with $50K as its next target, BTC seems to be racing to the moon. This immaculate price change of the king coin had got an array of investors pouring into the industry. Despite this, several have constantly expressed their concerns against the regulatory climate in the USA. Suarez hopes to shake this off as he intends to pay its citizens with Bitcoin.

In a recent tweet, prominent crypto influencer Anthony Pompliano urged the Mayor of Miami to be the first municipality to put Bitcoin on their balance sheet. The tweet read,

It is time. @FrancisSuarez the race is on to see what municipality is going to be the first to put Bitcoin on their balance sheet.

Let's make sure Miami continues to be the national leader in anything technology related.

Suarez proved to be extremely inclined towards inducing Bitcoin into the system. He replied to Pomp and revealed that he was working towards the same. The Mayor of Miami tweeted,

“Working on a resolution for our commission for this Thursday’s meeting to get the ball rolling…@elonmusk’s announcement was very helpful…now all we need is for @amazon to adopt and then 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀”

While not a lot of officials have expressed their keenness towards crypto, the decision of the higher-ups is still uncertain. Nevertheless, crypto Twitter lauded the Mayor for this move. As some suggested that they would relocate to Miami, a few others proposed that Miami was steering towards becoming a futuristic city.

Previously, in an interview with Forbes, Suarez asserted that Miami was endeavoring into becoming a crypto-friendly city like Wyoming. The Mayor managed to garner an array of appreciation for the same and Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey was one among them.
