Long-term outlook is supported by AI-focused development, chain abstraction, and growing confidence in its Web3 infrastructure narrative.

NEAR Price Targets $2.40 as Bullish Setup Emerges

According to the crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe, the NEAR price movement is gaining momentum among crypto day traders as recurring monthly market cycles continue shaping price action.

Traders have observed a pattern where markets rise during the first half of the month before correcting near month-end. Similar behavior throughout 2026 has sparked expectations that the latest weekend dip may establish another local market bottom.

A recent NEAR trade delivered short-term profits after positions were trimmed near $2.25, while remaining exposure closed at breakeven following protective stop adjustments.

Despite securing gains, traders remain cautious as lower highs and lower lows continue dominating shorter timeframes. However, the NEAR price compression suggests volatility is tightening ahead of a potentially aggressive breakout move.

Bullish sentiment became entrenched after the NEAR price bounced off its recent lows, marking a sure sign that liquidity is accumulating in preparation for a turnaround.

The resistance for the NEAR price is expected near the $2.25-$2.40 range, and a move towards former highs remains an option. In the event of continued selling activity, there will likely be further accumulation through dollar-cost averaging.

NEAR Quietly Positions Itself at the Center of AI and Web3

The data from Grayscale highlighted that NEAR Protocol spent the post-cycle slowdown focused on building infrastructure instead of chasing hype.

In 2026, NEAR Protocol will emerge from the shadows with a compelling narrative that is centered on AI, chain abstraction, NEAR intents, and cross-chain usability. It is believed that NEAR Protocol will become a blockchain designed for next-gen dApps.

As per the report, this is the strategy by NEAR for its AI agents, which will work in a manner such that there will be no barriers from the technical point of view to use different blockchains.

Through chain abstraction and intent-driven transactions, people have to choose what kind of outcomes they wish for, and then it will automatically be executed by the network.
