Ripple’s Board Member In Troubled Waters Following Cyberstalking Allegations

Arrests have become extremely common in the crypto-verse. With the industry growing exponentially in terms of value, several have been trying to prey on the market. However, arrests in the crypto sphere are usually with regard to money laundering or monetary fraud. But the latest arrest of Ripple’s board member is a first for the industry.

Arrested Ripple Board Member Associated With Trump’s Family

The latest report by the New York Times highlighted how Ken Kurson a member of the payment protocol, Ripple was charged with cyberstalking numerous people. Kurson is reportedly a close friend of Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of Donal Trump. The complaint registered by the FBI alleged that Kurson had sent across several messages to a person accusing the latter of wrecking his marriage.

While these messages were pertaining to his divorce, the FBI further laid out an array of other allegations. Kurson even went on to install software on one of the victims’ computers in order to keep in check the keystrokes. The complaint disclosed that the latest case had five victims including, Kurson’s ex-wife, her boss, the wife of the boss during the time as well as the Mount Sinai doctor. The details pertaining to the fifth person was uncertain.

Apart from his association with the Trump family and his role at Ripple, Kurson had also founded the cryptocurrency website, Modern Consensus. Kurson was also nominated for a seat on the humanities board in 2018. The latest allegations came to light following a background check. The accused withdrew from this post after the charges saw the light of the day.

Supporting and highlighting the good side of Kurson, his lawyer, Marc L. Mukasey stated,

” Ken Kurson is an honorable man, a loving dad and a gifted writer, The conduct alleged is hardly worthy of a federal criminal prosecution. Ken will get past it.”

This news has been surfing around the crypto-verse highlighting the fact that he was a member of Ripple. This could undoubtedly tarnish the reputation of the payments platform.
