Shiba Inu Surge Sheds Meme Coin Image: 50+ Businesses Accept Crypto Payments

By Aishwarya shashikumar | Edited By Sahana Kiran,June 21, 2024, 1:28 AM

Shiba Inu

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is shedding its “meme coin” image and proving its real-world value. More businesses worldwide now accept it as payment. From booking flights and ordering food to shopping for electronics and luxury goods, SHIB holders can now use their tokens for everyday purchases. This demonstrates the increasing acceptance and utility of this popular cryptocurrency.

Just days ago, Shiba Inu, the world’s second-largest dog-themed altcoin by market capitalization, reached a groundbreaking milestone. It successfully facilitated a web3 food delivery order through DevourGO. This historic event marks the first instance of a meme coin being used to complete an entire transaction on a prominent Web3 food ordering and delivery platform. It signifies a significant shift towards the mainstream acceptance of digital assets in everyday commerce.

But that is only the beginning. Shiba Inu is being accepted by a wide range of stores and services globally. In the entertainment sector, SHIB users can purchase movie tickets, concessions, and merchandise at AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas. In the realm of privacy and security, HOSTKEY offers server solutions and accepts SHIB as payment.

Here are Some Businesses Accepting Shiba Inu

Newegg, known for its extensive range of computers and electronics, announced its acceptance of Shiba Inu with a massive billboard in Los Angeles. GameStop, a well-known retailer for video games and accessories, began accepting SHIB. Twitch users can also support their favorite streamers using SHIB, adding another layer of utility.

When it comes to travel, airlines and travel services, facilitated through platforms like Flexa, started accepting SHIB. Sling TV enables payments for TV subscriptions using SHIB, while Menufy allows customers to order food and pay with SHIB.

For general retail, luxury brands like Gucci accept SHIB at many of their stores. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack joined the list, accepting SHIB for both luxury and discount shopping. Whole Foods, owned by Amazon, accepts SHIB through Flexa. Petco, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Ulta Beauty have also adopted SHIB, along with Lowe’s.

In the realm of non-profit and donations, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, and the British Red Cross accept SHIB. Additionally, stores like APMEX, which sell precious metals, and David SW, a retailer of high-quality timepieces, accept SHIB.

The widespread adoption of SHIB reflects the growing demand for alternative payment options. It is a testament to the evolving landscape of finance, where digital assets are no longer fringe investments but integral components of the global economy.
