Shiba Inu Developer’s Call: Cut Down Web3 Clutter

Amidst the SEC faux pas, Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has shifted the focus from the ongoing market turmoil surrounding ETF decisions to the development of SHIB’s network state. Kusama addressed the SHIBARMY, emphasizing the team’s dedication to creating a robust network state amidst the noise surrounding regulatory concerns.

Kusama initiated a series of threads, delving into various topics, notably introducing Shiba Inu Name Tokens. Underscoring the significance of domains as the identity layer of the Internet, he noted their pivotal role in simplifying online navigation for four decades. Expanding on this, Kusama posed a question: What if domains could do more than redirect to a website?

A key revelation came as Kusama announced a significant collaboration with @D3inc, unveiling plans to apply for the Shib Top-Level Domain [TLD]. This strategic move aims to leverage the infrastructure used by a staggering 5.3 billion people globally. Kusama highlighted the vast potential by contrasting the 198 million new users gained by the Internet in the last year with the crypto market’s 425 million users.

Shiba Inu Domains Use Cases

Continuing to shine a spotlight on SHIB domains, Kusama emphasized their unique features, allowing users to establish an identity layer on Shib that seamlessly integrates across the Internet. Notably, this integration does not require special software, wallets, plugins, or extensions. Users can simply type it into a browser, making it universally accessible across devices.

Domains allow us to build an identity layer on Shib that works across the Internet, without the need for special software. No wallets. No plugins. No extensions. You type it into a browser and it works, on your computer, on your phone; right out of the box.

Kusama drew parallels to how users already utilize domains in the Web3 ecosystem, accessing the Shiba Inu ecosystem, and exchanges for SHIB, LEASH, BONE, and various platforms. He encouraged the SHIBARMY to envision the possibilities if these domains ended with .shib, foreseeing a future where .shib domains enable users to host websites, blogs, or online stores, send and receive emails, and manage digital assets seamlessly.

In essence, Kusama envisions .shib domains as the key to unlocking a myriad of functionalities, from establishing online identity on Web3 platforms to facilitating seamless interactions within the Shiba Inu ecosystem and beyond.
