Shiba Inu’s Shytoshi Kusama Issues Urgent Brief, Overcoming FUD

Shiba Inu’s L-2 had an electrifying debut, leading to dramatic events and technical challenges. As enthusiasts grapple with sensational growth and the spreading of misinformation, the decentralized team behind Shibarium is tackling both head-on. Co-founder Shytoshi Kusuma has finally published a blog where he addressed the controversy.

Taking a firm stance against the growing FUD, the project lead reassured the community that there’s no truth to the rumors surrounding a bridge issue. The Shibarium launch faced an unexpected setback when nearly $2 million worth of ETH remained stranded between the Ethereum and Shibarium networks.

This event caused transactions on Shibarium to become trapped in a pending status. As a precautionary step, users were advised to refrain from using the scaling protocol temporarily. However, soon screenshots began to emerge purportedly showing Kusama admitting the issue.

Pointing out the deceptive nature of these posts, the Shiba Inu project lead clarified that no real issue exists and, more importantly, the community’s funds are secure.

The current turmoil originated from a massive influx of transactions and users at the precise moment Shibarium went live. A glimpse into the scale of this traffic storm came from an analysis provided by ALCHEMY, a service employed by the Shibarium team.

In just 30 minutes following the launch, the system observed a mind-boggling 160+ million compute units. This astonishing pace, if sustained, would project the platform into the realms of the most dynamic Layer 2 blockchains in existence, reaching billions of compute units per day, Kusama wrote in the blog post.

Shiba Inu: The Path Forward

In collaboration with the Unification team and other partners, the Shibarium team is working diligently to scale up and restore the system’s functionality. The goal is to enable a seamless transition into the next phase of perpetual decentralization, once again showcasing the robustness of the Shiba Inu army.

While the FUD persists, Kusuma has a word of caution for the community, urging users to exercise restraint and only engage with official Shib.io links to avoid potential risks associated with misinformation. As the Shiba Inu saga continues to unfold, the global crypto community watches in anticipation, eager to witness the next chapter of this thrilling narrative.
