Solana price is holding above key support as a falling wedge develops on the 4-hour chart. With SOL trading near $75, a breakout above the wedge could strengthen the recovery setup, while a break below support would keep bearish pressure intact.

Solana price looks to be forming a technical turnaround due to the fact that Solana is holding a key support level while the falling wedge pattern emerges on the 4-hour timeframe. The configuration has been eye-catching due to the potential for a bounce in its wake.

At the time of writing, SOL is trading at $75.27, with a 24-hour trading volume of around $2.27 billion and a market capitalization of approximately $43.86 billion. The token has declined about 0.1% over the last 24 hours, keeping the short-term outlook cautious.

Solana Price Nears Breakout Zone

On the 17th of August, 2026, Alpha Crypto Signal spotted a falling wedge forming on the 4-hour chart of SOL. This is an ongoing formation where prices are trading between two descending trend lines, but the range becomes narrower over time.

The latest retrace off the lower end of the formation has kept the setup alive. But so far, it hasn’t been enough to confirm a bullish reversal pattern.

Solana Price Forms Falling Wedge Pattern

Falling wedges normally form when there are lower highs and lows with a contracting trading range. In most cases, a breakout from the top trendline usually indicates that sellers have exhausted themselves and buyers are regaining dominance.

The top part of the current formation is thus a very crucial one to monitor for SOL. A breakout beyond this level, especially when accompanied by increased trade volume, would reinforce the positive scenario.

However, an inability to breach the upper trendline would ensure that SOL remains confined within the wedge. Failure to remain above the lower one would further weaken the positive outlook. In any case, a breakout beyond the upper trendline would give the bulls a chance to test higher levels of resistance.

Solana Holds Above Key Technical Support

Solana is currently trading at $75.22, which is just above the mid-Bollinger Band value at $74.50. Solana’s upper band is at $77.10, while its lower band is at $71.91, implying that price action is currently trading mid-range. A breakout above $77.10 will provide further upside impetus, but $74.50 should continue to act as key support.

On the MACD, we are seeing improved momentum in play, with the histogram currently at 0.10329 and the MACD line at 0.05374. The signal line is at -0.04955, which implies an improved momentum setup. If buying pressure persists, Solana can move to the upper band at $77.10.

What Happens Next for Solana Price?

The next test for SOL would be through the upper trendline of the falling wedge formation. If SOL were able to make a clean breakout above this pattern and manage to remain strong, we can see a long setup emerging with $77.10 as the first technical target.

Meanwhile, the $74.50 area is still a significant support level, which, if broken, would deteriorate the near-term setup, whereas a further drop towards the $71.91 low Bollinger Band will indicate increased bearish pressure.

The key takeaway is that the SOL coin has yet to confirm its breakout move. At the moment, there is a possibility of better momentum developing, but it depends on the token’s ability to breach resistance and stay above key support levels.

At the moment, the falling wedge formation, Bollinger Bands, and MACD have made an interesting setup worth monitoring. The following breakout from the technical formation will tell us more about whether the Solana price is gearing up for a rally or a continuation of decline.
