Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, raised $263.5 million through the sale of 2.73 million MSTR shares between July 13 and July 19, according to the company’s latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Despite the fresh capital, the company made no Bitcoin purchases during the reporting period, leaving its holdings unchanged at 843,775 BTC.

According to Strategy’s SEC filing, the company sold 2,732,318 Class A common shares under its at-the-market (ATM) offering program, generating $263.5 million in net proceeds. The filing also showed that the company did not issue any of its preferred stock offerings during the period, relying solely on MSTR share sales.

The company confirmed that its Bitcoin holdings remain at 843,775 BTC, acquired for approximately $63.69 billion at an average purchase price of $75,476 per Bitcoin. The company also reported that its U.S. dollar reserve increased to $3.225 billion, strengthening its liquidity position for potential future investments.

Bitcoin Buying Pause Reflects Capital Allocation Strategy

The absence of a Bitcoin purchase is notable because the company has consistently used proceeds from equity offerings to expand its BTC treasury. While investors often associate new share sales with immediate Bitcoin acquisitions, this week’s filing indicates the company is temporarily preserving cash instead.

The decision does not necessarily signal a shift in the company’s long-term Bitcoin plan. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has repeatedly described Bitcoin as the company’s primary treasury reserve asset, emphasizing a long-term accumulation approach rather than purchases on a fixed schedule. Previous acquisition pauses have often been followed by larger purchases once market conditions align.

Why Strategy’s Bitcoin Holdings Matter to Investors

Strategy remains the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, making its treasury decisions closely watched by institutional and retail investors alike. Changes in its holdings can influence market sentiment because the company has become one of the largest publicly traded proxies for Bitcoin exposure.

The company’s financing model has also attracted attention across capital markets. By issuing equity and convertible securities to fund Bitcoin acquisitions, the company has created a unique corporate treasury method that has inspired similar approaches from several listed companies seeking digital asset exposure.

Market Focus Shifts to the Company’s Next Bitcoin Purchase

Investors will now monitor whether the newly raised capital is eventually deployed into additional Bitcoin purchases. With more than $3.2 billion in cash reserves, the company retains significant financial flexibility should management decide that market conditions are favorable.

The broader cryptocurrency market will also watch upcoming SEC filings and company announcements for further updates. While no purchase occurred this week, the company’s long-term commitment to Bitcoin remains unchanged based on its latest disclosures, leaving market participants anticipating its next treasury move.
