The university’s move comes after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed the country’s Justice and Development Party to look into cryptocurrency developments. Furthermore, his December revelation that Turkey was working on crypto legislation fueled the action.

“We are glad to educate about NFTs,” Ankara University rector Necdet Ünüvar stated, “but our students are happier than us.” Bura Ayan is currently teaching the “Introduction to NFT” course.

The talk was attended by Zgül Zkan Yavuz, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism. The seminar was also attended by Ali Taha Koç, the head of the Turkish Presidency’s Digital Transformation Office.

“We think that NFT will spark creative creativity, abilities, and talents among kids,” Yavuz remarked during the event.

Ali Taha Koç stated that his office is working on several other digital projects. “Don’t think of NFT as purely a technology problem. “The NFT also has a legal component, so we’ll have to think about how it will affect our business processes,” he added.

According to Koç, his department is now developing a Turkish word for NFTs. He also invited students to offer their own ideas to the project.

“Everyone should participate and contribute an alternate name to NFT,” he said after announcing his intention to start a vote on social media.

As more nations accept cryptocurrencies, the industry’s popularity is proliferating. Turkey, meanwhile, provides crypto-related training to its citizens as part of the adoption process.

As a result, Turkey’s Ankara University has formally announced the availability of an NFT course. As a result, Ankara University is the first university in Turkey to offer a bitcoin course. This head-turning action will spark a trigger among other universities to adopt this too.
