Xpeng flying cars moved to the center of the company’s expansion plan after President Brian Gu said large-scale production is targeted for 2027. He also said humanoid robots are scheduled to begin rolling off production lines in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to a report by Reuters.
Gu presented the schedule prior to the Beijing Auto Show. He said that Xpeng intends to expand its operations other than the electric cars. The company is developing strategies regarding aviation, robotics, and self-driving transport. That puts fresh emphasis on future mobility programs.

Xpeng Flying Car Orders Grow
Over 7,000 orders of Xpeng flying cars have already been made in the company. The majority of such orders were placed in China. Xpeng will continue to seek the approval of the aviation regulators in the country. The latter process is relevant until the point of wider delivery can start on scale.
A closer association with Volkswagen was also cited by Gu. He claimed that there is a high possibility of more collaboration with the German carmaker.
Last month, Volkswagen initiated large-scale production of its first electric car that it came up with in collaboration with Xpeng. Gu explained that the two companies have a number of areas that they can create value together.
Xpeng also plans to test robotaxis in Guangzhou this year. Gu indicated that 2027 will be a critical year to test the partners in other markets.
He further said that the firm can be able to manufacture hundreds and thousands of robotaxis within 12 to 18 months. That timeline is an additional dimension of the mobility strategy of the firm.

Xpeng Expands Robots and Global Reach
The company is also advancing with humanoid robots as well as Xpeng flying cars. According to Gu, the earliest robots are likely to be receptionists or sales staff.
These would put them in direct contact with customers. He further said that in 10-20 years the robot business would be bigger than the auto division.
Xpeng has extended its presence beyond China. The business is currently present in approximately 60 nations. Gu reported that overseas markets had contributed approximately 10% of sales volume and approximately 15% of revenue last year.
He further explained that over the next 5 to 10 years, over half of revenue would be outside of China, with Xpeng flying cars and other products facilitating that broader global push.
