Alibaba

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. appears to be planning to launch a new AI service that will be targeted at businesses, following the increasing interest in AI assistants such as OpenClaw that are capable of performing real-world tasks.

On March 16, 2026, Bloomberg reported that the new AI agent, which is based on Alibaba’s flagship model Qwen, may be introduced as early as this week, according to the report. The service is expected to gradually integrate with Alibaba’s existing platforms, including the popular online shopping site Taobao and the fintech site Alipay. The AI agent has been developed by the team behind Alibaba’s communication app DingTalk.

The tool is designed to help enterprises manage their computers, browsers, and cloud servers with artificial intelligence. It will also have features to secure sensitive information, sources said. The pricing and level of integration with its existing services have not been revealed by the company yet.

Alibaba Expands Enterprise AI Tools

This move also underlines Alibaba’s continued expansion into the realm of AI, following its pledge to invest $53 billion in the space last year. Chief Executive Officer Eddie Wu had identified artificial general intelligence as a key company objective, and the company has seen substantial growth in its AI-related business, especially in enterprise and cloud computing.

Earlier this month, the Chinese company also introduced an app called OpenClaw for smartphones, thus becoming one of the first Chinese tech companies to bring such a task-oriented AI to consumers.

The launch of this enterprise-oriented AI tool by the company reflects its ambition to expand its reach in the market for business and consumer AI tools.
