Bitsneaks: Sneakers That Show BTC Price at Your Feet

Bitrefill is teaming up with NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie to develop Bitsneaks, the world’s most high-tech shoe capable of streaming the live price of bitcoin.

“We believe our services at Bitrefill.com must be 10 times better than our competitors, when we made a sneaker, we wanted it with 10x the coolness of anything else,” said Sergej Kotliar, founder of Bitrefill, in a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine. “We’ll let you decide whether we were successful.”

Bitsneaks: A one of a kind sneakers

Bitrefill’s team collaborated with TNSID and Spencer Dinwiddie to create what they describe as a “quantum leap” in shoe technology. Cellular internet is incorporated inside each sneaker’s sleek and flexible LED-matrix panel, which can be controlled via a smartphone application. Bitrefill recognizes the ridiculousness of this construction.

“Beating giants like Nike and doing something everyone believed was impossible is another example of what a tiny determined team like ours can achieve when attempting something genuinely dumb,” Kotliar remarked.

Living on Bitcoin is a way of life, and people frequently represent their way of life via clothes. Many corporations in the industry are beginning to recognize this, which is why they see Formula 1 sponsorships, Super Bowl advertising, and branded sports venues, Kotliar added.

They can’t match the finances of the big multinational shoemakers, according to Kotliar. That is when they decided to design something that would appeal to their individual talents.

He also added that they got a badass crew with tremendous coding talents and, it turns out, even a smidgeon of hardware expertise. As a result, they decided to construct something that stood out.

Bitsneaks.com sells high-end sneakers for one Bitcoin for every pair (about $40,000). The sneakers were designed by the Nordic Society for Invention and Discovery in collaboration with Bitrefill and have a complete node and mining gear incorporated into the shoebox, allowing it to mine Bitcoin as per the reports.

Pre-orders for the limited-edition Bitsneaks will begin on Wednesday, April 13, at 3 p.m. CET at bitsneaks.com.
