Coinbase completed its Deribit integration to launch the Everything Exchange, unifying US and global derivatives with $30B in Bitcoin options open interest. New options, 10x spot margin and unified portfolios roll out in weeks, with Coinbase Pro returning by year-end.

Coinbase is finally rolling all trading on a single regulated platform, Coinbase Everything Exchange. It completed its Deribit platform integration and brought US and global crypto derivatives liquidity together for the first time. Announced October 7, 2026, on its blog and X, it led to the formation of Coinbase Global Exchange.

The Coinbase Everything Exchange held over 30 billion dollars worth of Bitcoin options open interest on September 30 and handled over $1 trillion in volume last year via Deribit. In the next few weeks, the Coinbase Everything Exchange will release crypto options, spot margin, and unified portfolios, and by year-end will relaunch Coinbase Pro with spot, futures, options, perps, and equities. The integration fills a gap where derivatives accounted for nearly 80 percent of volume while US traders lacked compliant access.

Global Liquidity Comes Under One US-Regulated Roof

For many years, US institutions relied on offshore entities and fragmented venues to access global options and perpetuals. That changes with the Coinbase Everything Exchange under CFTC guidance issued in May 2026, where Coinbase Financial Markets, a Futures Commission Merchant regulated by the National Futures Association, will provide US clients access to international liquidity that Coinbase says only its regulatory standing meets. Via the Coinbase Everything Exchange, US clients can now trade Deribit’s full suite of options and perps through Coinbase Financial Markets.

Product Expansion Aims to Capital Efficiency

The Coinbase Everything Exchange brings three new pillars. First, options alongside perpetuals complete derivatives, giving us the ability to offer volatility yield hedging and risk-defined strategies. Advanced adds a strategy builder that turns portfolio outlooks into multi-leg orders ready to be filled in a single step, as well as payoff diagrams, breakevens, Greeks, funding, and depth next to execution.

Second, on the Coinbase Everything Exchange, spot margin enables traders meeting license requirements to borrow against more than 15 collateral assets up to 10x leverage on majors and 5x on others. Balances and margin health display in real time, and spot margin trades sit in the same portfolio as derivatives. Only Eligible Contract Participants in the United States are accepted. Loans are provided by Custody International or Coinbase Credit, with collateral held by Bermuda, Luxembourg, or Coinbase Inc.

Third, performance enhancement for speed on the Coinbase Everything Exchange. The engine accepts institutional and retail flow in a single unified order book. Best-in-class onboarding on the Coinbase Everything Exchange eliminates lengthy sign-up, leading to first trade within minutes in some cases. Tiered advanced fees starting at $10K combined spot-derivatives volume drive active traders into lower fee bands.

Rebuilt Pro Signals Prime Brokerage Ambitions

Active traders with cross-margined spot, futures, and options no longer need to maintain multiple same-custodial relationships in different jurisdictions.

CFTC

By combining Financial Markets for US derivatives, Bermuda Ltd, regulated by the Bermuda Monetary Authority for global derivatives, and Coinbase Inc as custodian, the Coinbase ecosystem and traditional brokers with equity, futures, and options. Asian and US institutions under reporting lens; professional market makers hedging in OTC.

Retail speculators get better trading and intermarket hedging without added counterparty risk on the Coinbase Everything Exchange. Additional liquidity and reduced legging risk are clear benefits, while liquidation on spot and shifting CFTC guidance pose risks. Next, non-US retail options and Pro Signals launch on the Coinbase Everything Exchange in weeks; US retail options arrive later, and US Pro/Elite by year-end if all goes well. If so, the Everything Exchange may revolutionize US-international fiat liquidity bridges.
