Hedera Partnership with IBM expands enterprise access for The Hashgraph Group as its IDTrust platform joins the IBM Cloud Catalog, strengthening Hedera’s role in digital identity, AI, and enterprise blockchain applications.

The Hedera partnership with IBM will help more enterprises use technology based on Hedera, as THG receives the designation of IBM Silver Partner and integrates its IDTrust solution into the IBM Cloud Catalog.

Swiss enterprise tech company said that this partnership also implies the signing of an Embedded Solution Agreement for IBM Cloud and AI solutions. This partnership makes the way for THG straight to the global enterprise customer base of IBM.

IDTrust has become the first enterprise-level application built using the Hedera network that is now available on any cloud marketplace, says THG. This listing may allow companies that use IBM Cloud to have better access to the IDTrust platform.

Hedera Partnership Brings IDTrust to IBM Cloud

Hedera Partnership emphasizes IDTrust, which is a self-sovereign identity solution made for businesses that have digital identities and credentials.

Through IDTrust, businesses can issue, verify, and manage credentials for individuals, machines, and even AI agents. The IDTrust solution follows the W3C standards, but the distributed ledger from Hedera creates trust in the digital identity solution.

Another significant characteristic of this platform is “Know Your Agent”. The purpose of this platform is to make sure the company is able to recognize AI agents as more and more companies are using autonomous systems for their tasks, including customer support, supply chain management, etc.

It is especially crucial in case an AI agent operates independently. The company should be aware of which AI agent it is, who authorized it, and what kind of actions it can do.

IDTrust Targets European Digital Identity Rules

THG stated that IDTrust has been created in order to facilitate regulatory needs related to eIDAS 2.0 and the AI Act by the European Union.

The two regulations are becoming more and more significant for businesses offering digital identity and AI technologies in the European region. Aligning IDTrust to the regulations, THG is preparing its technology for businesses that will require identity systems to be regulatory compliant.

In addition, IDTrust is said to verify credentials up to 90% faster than normal processes and cut down identity security problems by 85%. THG also anticipates that those who use the platform would make their money back in six months’ time.

This performance and financial data is claimed by THG and has not yet been verified.

Hedera Partnership Adds Enterprise Distribution

Under the new Hedera partnership, THG gets an additional means of distributing their IDTrust through the IBM cloud environment. In addition to the existing model of selling solutions directly to businesses, the platform can be discovered by IBM users on the marketplace.

The collaboration with IBM allows THG to link their solution to cloud and AI platforms offered by IBM. It is especially important when integrating digital identity systems with AI.

For Hedera, the move represents yet another use case for their distributed ledger technology within the corporate space. The blockchain system is not only being leveraged for cryptocurrency applications but also for identity management and tokenization purposes.

Hedera Joins UK Digital Markets Taskforce

Another recent development for the Hedera partnership is IBM’s collaboration with Hedera to join the UK Wholesale Digital Markets Champion Taskforce.

This champion taskforce is chaired by Christopher Woolard CBE, with the support of HM Treasury, and it is concerned with developing wholesale digital markets and encompasses subjects like tokenized repos, interoperability, and settlement finality.

The inclusion of Hedera offers a chance for the platform to bring in its knowledge of distributed ledger infrastructure as financial institutions seek to figure out the possibilities of tokenization.

In addition, the project is also looking into what needs to happen for tokenized financial markets to go big. This includes interoperability between various networks and proper settlement processes.

Hedera Expands Its Enterprise Focus

Both these events point towards the overall strategic trajectory that Hedera is taking in its business model. On one hand, the IBM deal integrates Hedera with a cloud marketplace, while on the other, the UK task force presents an opportunity to have talks about tokenized financial marketplaces.

In the case of THG, the Hedera partnership with IBM could be of great value in introducing IDTrust to the enterprise customer base.

On the other hand, the inclusion of Hedera in the UK digital markets initiative makes the technology relevant to broader considerations regarding the future of tokenized assets and financial infrastructure.

The efforts of firms in experimenting with AI agents, digital identities, and tokenized markets indicate that blockchain is being increasingly considered for enterprise-level use cases other than cryptocurrency trading.
