NEAR Protocol (NEAR) is showing a stronger bullish structure as buyers regain control and momentum improves. Analyst Michael van de Poppe expects further consolidation before a potential breakout. Rising market activity supports growing interest, while NEAR’s network upgrades and focus on the agent economy strengthen its broader outlook.

NEAR Builds Bullish Structure Ahead of Breakout
The NEAR price is entering a potentially important consolidation phase as crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe expects the token to prepare for another upward breakout.
His analysis suggests that NEAR could consolidate substantially before targeting $3.08, keeping the broader recovery structure intact after its mid-summer bottom.

NEAR has staged a strong recovery after finding support around $1.60. Buyers subsequently reclaimed the $2.00 and $2.30 resistance levels, improving the technical structure.
A sharp 10.19% daily advance lifted NEAR to $2.532, placing the token close to its next major resistance near $2.70.

Technical Indicators Support Continued Strength
According to the TradingView chart analysis, momentum indicators are also supporting the bullish setup, although they suggest that NEAR is moving toward elevated levels.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) currently stands at 67.94, reflecting strong buying pressure while remaining below the traditional 70 threshold commonly associated with overbought conditions.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator also maintains a bullish configuration. Its main line stands at 0.16593, above the signal line at 0.14399, while positive histogram bars reinforce the improving momentum. Together, these signals indicate that buyers continue to control the short-term trend.
NEAR Price Setup Targets a Rally to $3.08
Technical analysis shows that the $2.70 level is a crucial barrier to NEAR. This is because breaking through this barrier may help strengthen the pattern of recovery and pave the way for further gains in NEAR. The target set by van de Poppe at $3.08 becomes a vital upside zone in this case.
However, the anticipated consolidation is still relevant since the RSI for NEAR is already close to being in overbought condition after its recent rally. The sideways trend may enable momentum to reset for another test towards the upside. As long as the buyers hold onto the newly defended support areas, the bullish structure may persist.
Volume and Open Interest Strengthen Market Activity
Derivative figures serve as yet another way to gauge the rising popularity of NEAR. As per Coinglass statistics, the 24-hour trading volume for the token has risen by 45.26%, from $402.2 million to $581.03 million, while open interest has jumped by 11.35%, reaching $629.18 million.

Increased trading volume along with rising open interest indicates the possibility of new positions being formed apart from just trading in the spot market.
It does not mean that a fresh rally is coming, but this combination may point to the possibility that NEAR might become more volatile amid the resistance level at $2.70.
NEAR Network Fundamentals Add to the Outlook
In addition to the above-stated chart structure, NEAR Protocol is emphasizing the development of their infrastructure that further underpins their positioning in the blockchain industry.
Among others, NEAR Protocol mentions 100% mainnet uptime for more than five years, post-quantum signatures on the mainnet, and a publicly verifiable benchmark at one million TPS.

NEAR also talks about dynamic resharding that would allow NEAR to automatically scale up its network based on demand.
These features contribute to the protocol’s narrative about its infrastructure, which is in preparation for the coming age of agents’ economy. Having a better network infrastructure would give some context to potential NEAR investors beyond just price action.
What Happens Next for NEAR?
The future plans for NEAR will be determined by how it performs around $2.70. A breakout may lead to increased bullish strength, making the $3.08 target as predicted by
Michael van de Poppe is realistic. A rejection, on the other hand, may result in continued consolidation and may allow momentum oscillators to recalibrate themselves.
