Nubank has launched Nu Global, bringing USDC and EURC stablecoins into a multi-currency account for cross-border transfers across more than 35 countries. The move gives millions of users access to dollar and euro balances while highlighting the growing use of stablecoins in mainstream international payments.

Nubank has made a major move into stablecoin-powered finance with the launch of Nu Global, a multi-currency digital account designed to simplify international transfers and spending. The Brazilian fintech giant, which serves more than 140 million customers, launched the product on September 10, initially targeting Europe and Latin America.

Users of Nu Global have the capability to swap their deposits in local currency for USDC and EURC coins offered by Circle. They will get access to dollar and euro balances. The transfers can be made to more than 35 countries and are expected to extend to Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the USA.

Circle expands to Nubank

The reason why the launch matters is that Nubank is pushing the stablecoins from a specialized crypto product into an international banking account. This will allow the digital dollars and euros to be easily available for people who do not even think of trading cryptocurrencies.

Nubank Turns Stablecoins Into Everyday Financial Tools

The system of Nu Global is quite simple. Users deposit local currencies and have the option to turn their currencies into USDC or EURC. According to the company Nubank, USDC earns a 3.50% APY, while EURC earns 2.20% APY.

Nu Global works quite simply. The client transfers local currency and may exchange their money for USDC or EURC. USDC balances receive an annual percentage yield of 3.50%, according to Nubank. Meanwhile, EURC balances will get 2.20%.

The new project is built on the basis of Nubank’s experience of developing stablecoins through NuCrypto in Brazil. However, Nu Global is a bigger move, since stablecoins are now being incorporated in payment systems.

This is especially true for individuals who frequently exchange money internationally. Regular international transactions could require several intermediaries, and the process of conversion might take some time. The stablecoin might introduce a digital settlement layer, which would decrease the mentioned frictions.

Circle Expands USDC Distribution Through Nubank

The alliance will allow Circle to leverage its huge customer network that Nubank boasts of. Over 140 million customers can now become aware of USDC and EURC using a financial app and not just a crypto exchange platform.

That helps the strategy by Circle of using USDC as an infrastructure for payments, transfers, and financial services.

The same pattern is also developing in the institutional segment. This was exemplified by Circle, as they mentioned their collaboration with OSL, through which they have integrated USDC into their StableHub platform that caters to institutional clients from Asia-Pacific. OSL has recorded over $200 million in deposits of USDC within just four months of launching StableHub.

The OSL case study illustrates how the need for stablecoins to regulate access is not limited to just retail customers. The business sector is increasingly looking for regulatory-compliant methods to access and settle digital dollars without depending on liquidity aggregators.

US Expansion Could Broaden Nu Global’s Reach

Additionally, Nu Global appears when Nubank is growing its footprint in the United States. In addition to partnering with Lead Bank, which is FDIC-insured, the company is seeking its own charter for a national bank.

Nubank got preliminary conditional approval for its charter in January 2026. This strategy could make it possible for Nubank to have more control over its banking structure as it grows.

According to CEO David Vélez, the idea of “borderless lives” is aimed at individuals who lead their lives and have responsibilities spread out across several countries.

Adoption is the next big test. Nubank has to show that its users frequently utilize Nu Global for transfers and payments rather than just keeping their stablecoin balances.

The launch will be an essential part of the distribution network for Circle’s USDC. In a broader sense, this collaboration signifies how stablecoins are progressively shifting from cryptocurrency exchanges to traditional financial instruments.

In case Nubank is able to scale Nu Global effectively, the launch would be a model that shows how larger fintech companies would be using stablecoins to create faster cross-border payments systems.
