Polygon Labs has completed its acquisition of Coinme, bringing regulated U.S. money-transfer services into its Open Money Stack payments platform. The move gives Polygon coverage across 48 U.S. states and connects banking access, stablecoin transfers and blockchain settlement infrastructure. The company is targeting businesses that need to move money between traditional financial systems and digital assets.

Coinme Deal Gives Polygon Coverage Across 48 U.S. States
According to Polygon’s official announcement, Coinme brings 37 state money transmitter licenses and 11 applicable exemptions. The business is also registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a money services business. These capabilities provide regulated access for supported payment services, although individual products and transactions remain subject to applicable legal requirements.
The acquisition addresses a major challenge for businesses using stablecoins: connecting blockchain transactions with bank accounts, cash access and local-currency payouts. Polygon Open Money Stack combines these functions with wallets, payment routing and settlement infrastructure. Instead of integrating separate providers for each stage, businesses can use a single platform to coordinate more of the payment process.

Four Payment Firms Will Use Polygon’s Open Money Stack
Polygon named Tazapay, Mesh, Toku and Kira among the first customers adopting the platform. Their use cases include cross-border business payments, account funding, global payroll and access to U.S. dollars. These applications show how the infrastructure could serve fintechs and enterprises beyond cryptocurrency trading.
The potential commercial impact will depend on actual transaction volumes and repeat usage. Tazapay, for example, plans to use the platform’s on- and off-ramp and wallet infrastructure to connect stablecoins with local currencies.
Toku is integrating wallet and payout capabilities into its global payroll services, allowing supported workflows to connect stablecoin balances with local-currency payments. Customer adoption offers a more concrete measure of progress than the acquisition alone.
TRON Expansion Shows Polygon’s Focus on Stablecoin Payments
The Coinme deal follows Polygon’s October 7 announcement that Open Money Stack had expanded to support TRON. According to the official announcement distributed by TRON DAO, the integration connects businesses to TRON’s USDT ecosystem, which the announcement described as having more than $94 billion in circulating USDT. It also enables supported payment flows between blockchain networks and traditional financial rails.
This broader strategy could matter because stablecoins are increasingly used for cross-border transfers, business payments and treasury operations.
POL said its network had processed more than $3 trillion in payment volume as of September 21. That cumulative figure indicates existing transaction activity, but it does not establish how much revenue the new platform will generate or how much activity the Coinme acquisition will add.
POL Price Falls Despite New Payments Infrastructure Push
The business expansion has not yet translated into an immediate positive signal for POL. CoinGecko’s historical data put POL’s October 13 closing price at approximately $0.1017, down from about $0.1026 on October 7.
The figures suggest a modest weekly decline despite the recent payments announcements, although short-term prices can reflect broader crypto-market conditions as well as project-specific news.

The distinction between business growth and token performance is important for investors. Greater payment usage may strengthen demand for blockchain infrastructure, but the effect on POL depends on how that activity translates into network usage and token-related demand.
Investors will be watching for evidence of sustained transaction growth, customer adoption and clearer links between Open Money Stack activity and POL’s wider ecosystem.
