Ripple Partners with Top Nonprofits to Deliver Aid Faster Using RLUSD

By Usman Zafar | Edited By Ammar Raza,October 31, 2025, 6:38 PM

Ripple
  1. Ripple partners with top nonprofits to speed up global aid using blockchain and RLUSD stablecoin.
  2. Ripple Payments allows instant fund transfers, bypassing slow traditional systems.
  3. RLUSD reaches $900M market cap, proving the power of stablecoins in real-world finance.

Ripple has taken a major step toward merging blockchain technology with humanitarian work. Ahead of its annual Swell conference, the company revealed that World Central Kitchen, Water.org, Mercy Corps, and GiveDirectly are now using Ripple Payments and its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD to accelerate global aid distribution.

As per the firm, the reason for this development is the removal of long wait times and excessive fees that were involved when sending money to crisis zones. Ripple Payments, an end-to-end system based on the blockchain network, enables the sending of money across the globe in seconds. This happens as the firm operates around the clock and does not involve banks in the process.

Ahead of Ripple Swell, we’re showcasing how blockchain payments drive real-world impact: https://t.co/kNTgZ1qn7D@WCKitchen, @Water, @MercyCorps and @GiveDirectly are innovating aid delivery using Ripple Payments and $RLUSD.

The company President Monica Long stated that the collaboration shows how blockchain can make a real-world impact by transforming aid delivery. The focus, she said, is on connecting technology with purpose to ensure faster, more transparent financial support for communities in need.

Humanitarian Partners Embrace Blockchain Efficiency

World Central Kitchen (WCK), which has distributed millions of meals to areas devastated by disaster since 2020, is further expanding its work with the company. Nonprofit WCK has even begun to implement the use of Ripple Payments and RLUSD in order to distribute funds directly to partners in areas that are either remote or unbanked.

Joshua Tripp, President of Innovation at WCK, said:

With Ripple, we’re testing new financial technologies to settle payments in hours instead of days, even in challenging environments, allowing us to serve more communities in their most vulnerable moments.

Water.org, founded by Gary White and actor Matt Damon, has experienced success with the company technology as well. Now that they’ve concluded testing with the Ripple Payment solution in Brazil, Mexico, and Peru, they’re eyeing expansion in Africa and Asia.

The solution provides Water.org with the capability to efficiently distribute funds to microfinance institutions to facilitate affordable loans for clean water access.

RLUSD Strengthens Ripple’s Global Mission

The RLUSD stablecoin is the backbone of these efforts. Now with a market cap above $900 million in less than a year, it has proven to be very adoptable and scalable. Another project being conducted by the company is with Mercy Corps Ventures in Kenya, where they are piloting RLUSD to facilitate emergency cash transfers and parametric insurance for the unbanked.
