Solana DEXs recorded about 208 million trades during the week of September 14–20, surpassing the 189 million trades executed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) during the same period. The milestone highlights the scale of activity taking place on Solana’s onchain markets, although trade counts measure transaction frequency rather than comparable dollar volume.

208M Solana DEX Trades Top NYSE’s 189M in One Week

The 208 million figure comes from data tracked by Flipthe.market using Blockworks Research data. Solana’s DEXs recorded approximately 208 million trades between September 14 and September 20, while the NYSE recorded about 189 million. This marks the first reported week in which Solana’s DEX trade count exceeded that of the major U.S. stock exchange.

The comparison needs an important qualification because the two markets operate differently. Solana’s figure counts executed onchain swaps across its DEX ecosystem, while the NYSE figure represents exchange trades during traditional market hours. Solana operates continuously, allowing transactions throughout weekends and outside U.S. equity-market hours.

Solana DEX Volume Reaches $17.3B as Trade Count Climbs

The increase in transaction frequency is also accompanied by substantial trading value. Solana DEXs processed approximately $17.3 billion in weekly volume during September 14–20, according to the same data. That places the trade-count milestone within a broader period of sustained decentralized-market activity rather than representing a single-day spike.

Current DefiLlama data shows Solana DEXs recording about $3.21 billion in 24-hour volume and $76.3 billion over 30 days. Raydium, Pump and Orca are among the largest contributors, while Jupiter remains a major DEX aggregator with about $107.33 million in 24-hour aggregator volume.

SOL Rises 20% in Seven Days as Trading Activity Grows

Solana’s market performance has also strengthened during the same broader period. Historical data shows SOL rising from about $96.93 on September 15 to $117.9 on September 22, an increase of roughly 20%. SOL also reached an intraday high near $119.43 on September 22, while its market capitalization stood at approximately $69.8 billion.

The price movement should not automatically be attributed to the DEX milestone. However, the combination of higher onchain activity and stronger SOL trading provides useful market context for evaluating whether network usage is being accompanied by increased asset demand. Current 24-hour SOL trading volume is around $6.83 billion, according to CoinGecko data.

24/7 Solana DEX Trading Extends Beyond U.S. Hours

One of the clearest differences between Solana DEXs and traditional exchanges is market availability. The NYSE operates during scheduled U.S. trading hours, while Solana’s blockchain processes transactions continuously. This allows DEX activity to come from participants operating across different time zones without waiting for a centralized exchange to reopen.

The development also adds context to Solana’s broader role in decentralized finance. Syndica previously found that Solana remained a leading blockchain for DEX activity, while its 2026 research showed the network continuing to hold a major share of global DEX volume. The latest trade-count milestone therefore adds another measure of activity alongside dollar-denominated volume and liquidity.
