World has officially launched as a Solana-native prediction market, introducing fully on-chain event trading through the Phantom wallet. The platform debuts with cryptocurrency price markets and 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup predictions while relying on Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure for market data and settlement.
The launch highlights the growing role of blockchain-based prediction markets, where users can trade event outcomes without relying on centralized custodians or off-chain settlement systems.

Solana Adds 2 On-Chain Prediction Market Categories
World launches with two initial categories: short-duration cryptocurrency price markets and football prediction markets focused on the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup. Users with a Phantom wallet can participate without creating additional accounts or transferring assets to centralized exchanges, allowing them to maintain custody of their funds until they enter a market.
Unlike traditional prediction platforms that often depend on centralized operators for custody and settlement, every position, transaction, and payout on World is processed directly on Solana. This model improves transparency because every trade and settlement can be verified on-chain while benefiting from Solana’s high throughput and low transaction costs.
The launch also reflects the expanding use cases for Solana beyond decentralized finance. As blockchain infrastructure becomes faster and more scalable, prediction markets are increasingly emerging as a practical application that combines financial trading with real-world events.
Pedro Miranda, Head of Consumer at the SOL Foundation, said, “Prediction markets are one of the most powerful applications you can build on a high-performance blockchain. World is designed to show what Solana makes possible: real-time markets, on-chain settlement, and a user experience that meets people where they are.”

Chainlink Powers Fast Market Resolution on Solana
A major component of the platform is its integration with Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). These services provide decentralized market data and automate the resolution of prediction markets, reducing reliance on manual verification or centralized decision-makers.
Reliable oracle infrastructure remains one of the biggest challenges for decentralized prediction markets because market outcomes depend on accurate external data. By integrating Chainlink, World aims to deliver faster settlement while maintaining transparency throughout the resolution process.
Phantom Integration Expands Access for Solana Users
World is available directly within Phantom, one of the most widely used wallets in the Solana ecosystem. This removes the need for a separate application, making prediction markets accessible to millions of existing wallet users through an interface they already use for digital assets.
The platform uses the CASH stablecoin for settlement, enabling low-cost and automatic redemption of winning positions. According to Phantom, this design supports faster user onboarding while reducing friction associated with moving assets between multiple applications.
Launch Signals Broader Growth for On-Chain Markets
The introduction of World reflects the broader evolution of blockchain infrastructure toward real-world financial applications. Prediction markets have attracted increasing attention because they combine decentralized trading, transparent settlement, and programmable market structures that traditional platforms cannot easily replicate.
For Solana, the launch strengthens its position as a network supporting consumer-focused applications beyond decentralized exchanges and token transfers.
If adoption continues to grow, the combination of SOL’s performance, Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure, and Phantom’s distribution could help expand the use of on-chain prediction markets across crypto, sports, macroeconomics, and other real-world events.
