Coinbase

Key Takeaways:

  • Visa enables real-time transfers on Coinbase for users with eligible Visa debit cards.
  • Coinbase users can now instantly buy crypto and cash out using Visa’s network.
  • The partnership aims to bridge traditional finance with the dynamic crypto market.

Visa, a global payments leader, has announced a new partnership with Coinbase to enable real-time transfers for users with eligible Visa debit cards. This integration benefits the exchange’s US and EU customers and brings faster transactions, allowing users to move funds into their accounts instantly.

Visa Direct, the network supporting these transfers, brings reliability and security, a crucial feature for Coinbase’s millions of users in the evolving crypto market.

Seamless Deposits for Enhanced Trading Flexibility

With the new functionality, the exchange users holding eligible Visa debit cards can now quickly deposit funds, enabling them to react to market opportunities without delay.

Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, Head of Visa Direct North America, highlighted Visa’s commitment to financial accessibility: “Providing real-time account funding ensures that Coinbase users can capitalize on trading opportunities around the clock.” This addition addresses the time-sensitive nature of crypto trading, granting more control over financial moves in a high-paced environment.

The real-time feature extends beyond deposits; eligible users can now purchase digital assets directly on the exchange and seamlessly cash out to their bank accounts, expanding their options for managing and growing their portfolios.

Real-Time Access: Visa Enhances Coinbase Experience

This partnership is part of Visa’s broader strategy to bridge traditional finance with digital assets, which has seen growing demand for faster transaction options.

Akash Shah, Senior Director of Product Management at Coinbase, shared the platform’s mission of promoting economic freedom, emphasizing that Visa’s integration will “deliver trust, security, and flexibility” to Coinbase’s user base. He said:

Bringing this feature to our customers supports our mission of increasing economic freedom worldwide. The integration with Visa Direct gives our eligible customers real-time 1 access to their funds for trading. By enabling them to move money seamlessly and control their finances, we are delivering the trust, security, and flexibility they expect.

Along with this feature, they continue to offer a Coinbase Visa debit card for U.S. customers. This adds another layer of convenience for users across both fiat and digital currencies.

However, the two companies are working towards making crypto more accessible and, by extension, allowing people to utilize the diverse range of options that today’s financial economy offers.
