Three months after launch, Ethereum Institutional unveiled a refreshed brand and rebuilt website to make institutional deployment on Ethereum searchable. Announced by @ethereuminsti on X, the update introduces a new wordmark and visual system, plus a redesigned Ethereum Institutional.org.
The centerpiece is a searchable database of institutional deployments across Ethereum mainnet and Layer-2s, and a dedicated identity for the Ethereum Institutional Forum, which previously convened over 150 executives representing an estimated $250 trillion in assets under management. The move sharpens Ethereum’s enterprise pitch from narrative to discovery.

From Foundation Portal to Independent Front Door
In October 2025, the Ethereum Foundation’s Enterprise Acceleration team launched institutions. Ethereum.org, framing Ethereum as the neutral, secure base layer where financial value is coming on-chain. It tracked about 75% of tokenized real-world assets, 65% of DeFi TVL, and 60% of stablecoin supply on Ethereum and L2s, backed by more than 1.1 million validators.

In July 2026, that work was spun out as Ethereum Institutional, an independent nonprofit, led by former Foundation executives David Walsh, Marius Smith and Matthew Dawson, and with more than 500 industry relationships across Tier-1 banks, asset managers and custodians. Funders include BitMine Immersion Technologies, SharpLink, and co-founder Joseph Lubin.

This reflects a reorganization discussed on the Ethereum Foundation blog, splitting the Foundation to keep the core protocol, and “stewards” like Ethlabs for research, and Ethereum Institutional, for go-to-market. Its focus includes institutional relationships intelligence marketing of ETH, industry discovery, and hosting industry conferences.
The first version of the portal was static, with case studies, but the new version is filterable by industry, chain, and asset, including stablecoins, tokenized treasuries, and settlement.

Why Discovery Matters
Now the rebrand comes as institutions pick up momentum. BlackRock’s BUIDL fund is over $1.15b in AUM, most of it on Ethereum, while Visa reports over $1b in annual stablecoin settlement on Ethereum.
Coinbase’s Base has over $15.5b TVL, a number in a much larger L2 ecosystem of over $50b / L2Beat. DefiLlama shows some 65% of DeFi TVL is still on Ethereum; stablecoins on Ethereum are near $180b, about 60% of supply.
That liquidity is material for assets that redeem into dollars, a moat competitors like Solana are seeking with dedicated business development teams. Ethereum Institutional finds neutrality both a strength and a friction point it’s a magnet for long-term infrastructure, but leaves enterprise with no obvious counterparty.

Its role is to identify requirements and translate them into deployable stacks using zero-knowledge proofs, fully homomorphic encryption, and L2 scaling with Aztec and RAILGUN. The Forum and tracker resolve two issues: discovery, by identifying which peers have moved beyond pilots, and credibility, by enabling peer-to-peer interaction outside developer conferences.

Regulatory Hurdles and Outlook
The nonprofit will grow Institutional Intelligence with standardizations on issuance, settlement, and compliance. Its tracker will get live on-chain attestations and link to regulatory filings, all designed to help risk and legal teams. For L2 teams like Arbitrum, Optimism, and zkSync, that’s a distribution of enterprise buyers. For custodians and exchanges, that’s forums to take on standards like ERC-1400 and ERC-3643.

For regulators working on MiCA and the US market structure bills, that’s an independent aggregator to shed light from. Regulation still looms. Institutions are still balancing latency, fee volatility and privacy. The proof will be if search improves and a simple front door turns intrigue into production in the next 12 to 24 months the timeframe that will determine on-chain finance for years to come.
