Anthropic is reportedly preparing for a potential IPO in October, with investor marketing possibly beginning by mid-month. The AI company could seek a valuation approaching $2 trillion, as its expected public debut comes amid growing investor interest in major artificial intelligence companies.

Anthropic IPO is preparing for a potential public-market debut in October, with sources indicating that the artificial intelligence company could begin marketing its IPO to investors around mid-month. The IPO could be coming before the U.S. midterm elections, putting a technology sector giant in front of global scrutiny in the coming weeks.

As Anthropic is still a private company, there is no official stock price available yet. However, based on a report on September 4 by Stock Analysis, the reference price in the secondary market stood at about $1,014.63 while the latest valuation after its funding round was near $965 billion. There is also an estimate of its current implied valuation of about $858.6 billion.

Anthropic IPO Valuation Could Approach $2 Trillion

Sources familiar with Anthropic IPO’s timeline say the company will delay the publication of its IPO prospectus by two weeks until late September. The prospectus will contain details regarding the company’s financials and risks. The sources highlighted that the timeline is not finalized and could change along the way.

The delay in the prospectus publication would mean that mid-October could be the earliest time Anthropic could start marketing its IPO, followed by its listing days before the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. Valuation of the company near $2 trillion has been talked about by some investors as a possible outcome of the listing.

Financing Plan Adds IPO Momentum

Anthropic IPO is planning to finalize the terms of its $15 billion revolving credit facility before moving on to its IPO process. According to sources, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Citigroup have taken important roles in both the financing and the offering. The facility would exceed the companyโ€™s $2.5 billion five-year credit arrangement secured last year.

The offering comes as investors watch a broader wave of potential AI listings. In addition, OpenAI has also been rumored to be planning a future initial public offering, raising questions regarding which firm would be first to hit the markets. This development follows SpaceX’s June IPO, whose valuation was estimated at $1.77 trillion.

Anthropic IPO could provide a test of how investors value rapidly expanding AI businesses and their infrastructure requirements. It has been noted that Anthropic’s annualized revenues have crossed $65 billion.
