Shiba Inu [SHIB] latest member of the AMC family?

October 30, 2021 by Sahana Kiran

The crypto spotlight has been following Shiba Inu [SHIB], the relatively new ERC-20 token. The price change of the altcoin has undoubtedly turned heads. Shiba Inu was here to make it big and the altcoin’s move of overpowering its rival, Dogecoin [DOGE] was lauded by many in the community. Adoption of the altcoin had surpassed the nascent stage and platforms from across the globe were welcoming SHIB with open arms. Now, the world’s largest cinema chain seemed to be the latest to adopt asset.

Prominent American cinema operator, AMC has been going all-in on crypto. Over the last couple of months, the platform repeatedly announced the inclusion of different cryptocurrencies. And more recently, its CEO and Chairman, Adam Aron revealed that a native cryptocurrency could be underway.

Reminiscing the inclusion of Dogecoin [DOGE], Aron had taken to Twitter to ask the community if AMC had to introduce the meme coin into its system. Following a great response from the community, DOGE finally garnered a spot on the cinema chain.

Now, Aron was seen doing something similar for Shiba Inu.

Shiba Inu to join its rival Dogecoin at AMC

In his latest tweet, Aron pointed out that AMC has been working towards incorporating prominent crypto assets like Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], Dogecoin [DOGE] as well as Litecoin [LTC]. Asking the question, to do or not to do, the tweet read,

TWITTER POLL #2: As you know, you can now purchase AMC gift cards using cryptocurrency, and our IT group is writing code so that soon we can accept online payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin among others. Should we strive to take Shiba Inu too?

— Adam Aron (@CEOAdam) October 29, 2021

While the poll still has four more days left, it had already amassed the votes of about 124,253 users. A total of 79.6% of participants in the survey were all in for Shiba Inu. About 6.3% selected the third option, “No You Have Enough Choice” and a dainty number of them, that is, 7.5% of the participants were strongly against the inclusion of Shiba Inu into AMC.

Despite the time left on the poll, it was clear that the community wanted Shiba Inu as a payment method at AMC.

Additionally, the price of SHIB was witnessing a massive surge, at press time. The altcoin soared by over 165% throughout the week. During the time of writing, SHIB was trading for $0.00007379 with a 7.75% rise in the last 24-hours.
