Binance US is reportedly exploring a $100 million funding round at a $1 billion valuation as it seeks to strengthen its American business. The proposed valuation is 78% below its 2022 benchmark, while liquidity, customer activity, and regulatory developments remain important to its recovery.

Binance US funding plans reportedly involve raising $100 million at a $1 billion valuation as the cryptocurrency exchange seeks to rebuild its position in the American market. The company is exploring new capital while pursuing expansion, improved liquidity, and additional regulatory approvals.

Bloomberg reported on October 15, 2026, that the proposed fundraising remains under discussion, meaning its size, valuation, and investor lineup could change. These funding plans follow a series of challenging years for Binance US, including banking issues, low trading volumes, and legal challenges.

Binance US Funding Valuation Falls Below 2022 Level

The reported $1 billion valuation would mark a significant reduction from Binance US’s previous funding benchmark. In April 2022, the exchange reported a capital raise of over $200 million at a $4.5 billion pre-money valuation. The current valuation target is 78% less than that previous one.

The decrease is due to the difficulties faced by the business after 2023, which saw the company hit by regulatory actions and issues with banks. In March 2024, a filing to the court revealed that the revenue of Binance US was down by 75% and that the firm had reduced its workforce by over 200 positions due to the lawsuit of the SEC.

However, the proposed valuation does not define the current financial performance of the company in terms of revenues, profitability, or any other criteria related to fundraising. Investors will evaluate the company’s chances to recover, client activity, regulation, and potential to earn from the provided services.

Binance US Restores Dollar Services and Expands Products

Binance US reported significant development of operations in the December 22, 2025, letter from its leadership team. Its CEO, Norman Reed, reported that the platform resumed U.S. dollar services after spending almost two years dealing with the issue of moving money onto and off of the platform.

Binance US also reported further expansion of partnerships with banks in the same letter. Furthermore, according to the letter from the company’s leadership team, Binance US supports more than 190 cryptocurrencies and introduced innovations in discovery, support, staking, and reward tools. These facts represent the background of the company’s current strategy of expansion despite the fact that product innovations do not prove growth in revenues or market share.

The regulatory situation for Binance also changed in May 2025 due to the dismissal of the civil lawsuit filed by the SEC against Binance Holdings, Binance US entities, and Changpeng Zhao with prejudice. The dismissal did not prove the approval of all of the Binance-related activities and businesses.

Market Share and Liquidity Remain Key Priorities

Binance US is similarly investigating means of enhancing liquidity and bringing clients back to its platform. In July 2026, citing remarks by Reed’s replacement, Stephen Gregory, there was an aim mentioned to capture 20% of the U.S. crypto market again. This is an ambition, not a verified market share percentage.

Liquidity matters because deeper order books generally allow customers to execute larger transactions with less price impact. Having access to more liquidity providers, which could include even the international Binance exchange, can help the company achieve its goal, although how exactly remains unknown.

The funding would also come as U.S. exchanges compete through lower fees, broader asset listings, and new financial products. Binance US has been planning to venture into activities outside of spot trading of cryptocurrencies, such as gaining approval for prediction markets and derivatives.

Binance US Funding Faces Investor and Regulatory Tests

According to Bloomberg, the cryptocurrency-related venture known as World Liberty Financial that is connected to President Donald Trump, among other co-founders, was aware of the financing attempt but would be out of the fundraising loop. Their decision does not indicate whether other parties will invest their funds in the project or whether Binance US will raise the entire amount.

In November 2023, Binance Holdings reached a $4.3 billion agreement with American authorities related to anti-money laundering, illegal money transmission, and sanctions. Binance.US was not a party to that Justice Department settlement, although regulatory developments involving the wider brand remain relevant context.

The next major milestones are confirmation of the fundraising terms, identification of participating investors, and measurable progress in customer activity and market share. Until those details emerge, the $100 million plan remains a reported proposal rather than a completed investment round.
