Dogecoin is showing a long-term market structure that resembles patterns seen before major rallies in 2017 and 2020, fueling speculation of a potential move toward $2. Rising DOGE futures open interest near $3.12 billion also signals stronger trader participation, although increased leverage could amplify volatility.

Dogecoin (DOGE) is showing a recurring long-term market structure that has previously preceded major rallies for the DOGE price. Growing futures activity also signals stronger trader participation and rising bullish interest. While the setup supports optimism for a significant recovery, traders remain focused on momentum, market confirmation, and potential volatility from increased leverage.

At the time of writing, DOGE is trading at $0.07041 with a 24-hour trading volume of $614.4 million and a market capitalization of $10.94 billion. Despite the signs of stability over the last 24 hours, the DOGE price structure and futures growth point to a bullish reversal ahead.

DOGE Price Eyes $2 After Historic Cycle Setup

According to the crypto analyst Trader Tardigrade, the DOGE price chart is showing a long-term structure that resembles previous major market cycles.

On the two-week chart, DOGE has historically formed a bottom, consolidated near support, experienced a breakdown, and then launched powerful rallies. Similar structures appeared in 2017 and 2020, when breakdowns preceded explosive upside moves and renewed bullish momentum.

Bulls are expecting that a similar scenario might develop again in 2026 when the DOGE price collapses from its prolonged consolidation pattern.

Assuming that this trend repeats itself once again, Dogecoin might likely accelerate towards the $2 mark and above. It should be noted, however, that history is not always a good indicator of future events.

DOGE Futures Open Interest Surges to $3.12B

The data from dogegod further highlighted that the growth in DOGE futures has become apparent as open interest jumps to roughly $3.12 billion, indicating that there has been a massive amount of money being pumped into the derivatives market.

The sudden jump indicates that there have been increased positions being made by traders, as they position themselves for a possible big move.

The rise in open interest indicates that there are growing levels of leverage in the Dogecoin futures markets, creating an opportunity for further volatility in the future.

If Dogecoin continues to appreciate while open interest increases, this might strengthen the bulls. Otherwise, any abrupt shift could see positions being liquidated due to leveraging, which could impact the price going forward.

Despite the bullish price predictions and on-chain futures growth, the DOGE price is still moving in neutral territory. This move is also backed by the cautious environment in the crypto market as Bitcoin is moving in a sideways direction.

What Happens Next for Dogecoin?

Key levels for Dogecoin bulls would be the support and resistance levels, the level of volumes, and the momentum indicator.

Spot and future trades above the current trend combined with increased volumes and momentum may boost DOGE price expectations and help achieve higher targets around $2. But, at the same time, the use of leverage increases the risk of liquidation.
